Know the Score
Know the Score is a resource magazine once published by PYSO for music students and their parents covering issues relevant to pursuing an education in music. It was an outreach project of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra and was funded by sponsorships and advertising. No fee or cost to the reader!

Community Outreach
PYSO Chamber Music

In the past year, chamber music ensembles comprised of current PYSO members have performed at various functions representing the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra. Enthusiastic audiences have praised these groups for their musicianship and professionalism.

PYSO chamber groups have performed for

  • PA Governor Ed Rendell and the Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau
  • the RADical Weekend Event sponsored by ARAD
  • the Junior League at the William Penn Grand Ballroom
  • the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh
  • National Aviary 20th Anniversary Wings & Wildlife Art Show
  • Elderhostel at the Carnegie Moon Library
  • the Sewickley Music Club at Henning House
  • the Allegheny Historic Preservation Society's Tiffany Concert Series at the United Calvery Church on the North Side
  • the Frick Art & Historical Center
  • the Carnegie Science Center
  • Pittsburgh Children's Museum
