Sunday, October 23, 2016 is the date for the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra’s annual fundraising gala that will raise much needed funds for scholarships, program support and PYSO’s 2017 concert tour to SPAIN when PYSO will be musical ambassadors performing in Valencia, Avila, Barcelona and Madrid!
This year, our Sunday evening gala will take place in the spacious Freehof Hall at Rodef Shalom in Shadyside, located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Morewood with plenty of free parking.
The sit-down dinner follows a Spanish theme, and the menu will include tapas (in the Atrium), salad, choice of entrees with sides, rolls & beverage (including a glass of complimentary wine or beer) and dessert – all provided by Opening Night Catering.
PYSO Music Director Francesco Lecce-Chong and the full Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform a short concert as a preview of some of the music that will be featured on their upcoming concert tour: the finale from Falla’s Three Cornered Hat Suite, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, and selections from Bizet’s Carmen with soloists from Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artists. The program will also include a Flamenco dancer!
In addition to enjoying dinner and the orchestra concert, guests will have the opportunity to win exciting and valuable prizes through drawings and auctions.
Ven a la fiesta! Early bird tickets are on sale now! Save $25 by purchasing your ticket by October 10.
If you would like to sponsor a table for 10 guests, please contact the PYSO office at 412-392-4872 or via email.
